I am very pleased to announce we have a new member of staff. Here is a little about her background in her own words-
After hearing about the great work the Sport Clinic does, I reached out to Phil about potential opportunities to work together.
"I have a first-class degree in Sport, Social Sciences and Coaching from the University of Bath, having taken a year out before the final year of my studies to work as a Strength and Conditioning coach at an international tennis academy in Spain. I have since worked in a few different roles, including as a gym and recovery assistant at Wimbledon Championships. I have qualifications in Nutrition and Sports Massage, and I am currently undergoing qualifications in Strength and Conditioning and Personal Training.
I have tried every sport I’ve had the opportunity, generally having a preference for team sports and settling on football and netball. I played netball for the Uni of Bath for the years I studied there, and continue to play competitively for my local club. As a very sporty individual, I’ve had my fair share of injuries, and these experiences have shaped the way I approach (p)rehabilitation, body maintenance and general programming. Personally, I enjoy using a combination of yoga, pilates and strength inspired training; however I believe the success of a programme is reliant on unique tailoring, reassessments and the individual having autonomy and understanding their own body."
Sophie will be joining me in treating our clients, sports massage and taking them through rehab programmes, and performance training.
She will be available to book on Tuesdays from 3pm-8pm and Thursdays 9am-4pm. Which means the clinic will be able to be open for longer giving our clients more options for booking appointments at times that suit them.
Sophie's first shift will be on Thursday the 19th of September. So get those bookings in asap before they all go!
